Adding water correctly is key to a steam iron's performance, ensuring smooth, wrinkle-free results while protecting the appliance. Follow these simple steps to do it right.
First, ensure the steam iron is unplugged and completely cool. Never add water to a hot or plugged-in iron-this avoids burns and potential damage to internal components. Locate the water tank, usually marked with a small lid or a flip-up cap on the iron's handle or body.
Use distilled or filtered water. Tap water often contains minerals that can build up as limescale, clogging the steam vents over time and reducing efficiency. Slowly pour water into the tank, keeping an eye on the visible water level indicator. Do not overfill-stop just below the "max" line to prevent water from leaking during use.
After filling, securely close the tank lid to avoid spills. Give the iron a gentle shake to check for leaks; if water seeps out, empty a small amount and reclose the lid.
For best care, empty any leftover water after each use and store the iron upright. This prevents mold and mineral deposits from forming inside the tank.
At our factory, we design steam irons with user-friendly water tanks. Ours feature wide openings for easy filling, clear level markers, and leak-proof lids, making the process simple even for first-time users. With these thoughtful details, our steam irons ensure hassle-free water refills, so you can focus on achieving crisp, professional results every time.
