A handy garment steamer keeps clothes wrinkle-free, but dirt and mineral buildup can hinder performance. Regular cleaning ensures it lasts-here's how:
Prep safely
Unplug the steamer and let it cool completely (10–15 minutes). Empty any remaining water from the tank to avoid spills during cleaning.
Descale the tank
Mix equal parts distilled water and white vinegar (or a citric acid solution) to fill ½ the tank. Plug in the steamer, let it heat, then hold the nozzle over a sink and release steam in short bursts for 2–3 minutes. This dissolves limescale. Turn off, unplug, and let the solution sit for 30 minutes.
Clean the nozzle
Use a soft brush or toothpick to gently clear clogged steam holes-avoid sharp tools that may damage the nozzle. Wipe the nozzle with a damp cloth to remove residue.
Rinse thoroughly
Empty the tank, rinse it twice with distilled water, then fill it fully with fresh water. Heat again, release steam for 1 minute to flush out leftover vinegar, then empty and dry the tank.
Store properly
Let all parts air-dry completely before storing. Keep the steamer in a cool, dry place to prevent mold.
Our factory's handy garment steamers are designed for easy maintenance: features like detachable tanks and anti-clog nozzles simplify cleaning. Built to resist buildup, they stay efficient longer-ideal for daily use.
